Zuber Syed is the Founder and Managing Partner of Zuber & Partners. Before coming to the bar, he spent more than two decades inside the technology and security industry across the Gulf region and India - progressing through roles at different organisations including Information Security Analyst at banks, Cyber & Data Security Engineer at a major telco, Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Expert at a regional value-added distributor, Regional Product Manager covering cybersecurity across Gulf markets, and General Manager at one of the region's largest value-added distributors where he ran a portfolio of more than 25 cybersecurity products. Throughout this career he advised organisations across telecoms, banking, government, and oil and gas on cybersecurity compliance, security posture, risk frameworks, and vulnerability assessment - work he carried out as a certified ISMS Lead Auditor under ISO/IEC 27001. His final role before founding the firm was Executive Director at an MSSP and SOC services provider, where he oversaw managed security and incident response operations - giving him direct exposure to the operating realities that most cybersecurity lawyers have only read about.

He practices across the full spectrum of the firm's mandate - cybersecurity law, DPDP compliance, GCC legal advisory, regulatory defense, corporate litigation, cross-border transactions, and FEMA advisory. His two decades across Gulf markets, combined with his practice before the courts and tribunals of India, position him as one of the few advocates who understands both the commercial architecture of a Gulf-origin Global Capability Center and the legal infrastructure required to build and sustain it in India. He has appeared before the High Courts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the National Company Law Tribunal, the Debt Recovery Tribunal, Commercial Courts, Civil Courts, Criminal Courts, Revenue Tribunals, and GST authorities, and has represented foreign clients, Indian corporates, conglomerates, family offices, GCCs, and high-net-worth individuals across matters of significant complexity.

He works directly - not through a layer - with general counsel, CISOs, CEOs, founders, and boards on matters where getting any one of legal, technical, regulatory, or commercial wrong is the same as getting all of them wrong.
